What is the difference between interpretation and translation? Interpretation is the transmittal of the spoken word from one language to another. Translation refers to the written word.

How often should I review my company's contracts for language services? We recommend you review your language contracts at least once per year.

What is an SLA? An SLA or Service Level Agreement defines your performance expectations with your vendor. Examples of performance expectations for language interpretation might include language availability, speed of answer, call quality, and reporting requirements, among others. Performance expectations for translation service might include turn around time, project management, and accuracy levels, among others.

How do I determine my vendor's current performance level? Most vendors provide summary reports or call metrics with each invoice or at least on a quarterly basis. Note that all metrics are self reported and no national standard or government regulatory body exists for the language services industry. |

What about confidentiality? All documents and client information are held in strictest confidence. A Non-Disclosure Agreement is signed prior to commencement of any project. The Language Factor does not share client information of any kind.
